FAQs

Check HERE for further info regarding custom paint, bike set up and more.

I want to attach bags. What will it do to the frame finish?

Curve's steel frames are finished with high-quality and durable paint, but the paint is not unaffected by rubbing from bike bags or rock strikes etc.

If you want to keep your paint looking pristine, we recommend that you use some kind of protective film - especially in the high-wear areas where bag straps are in direct contact with the frame.

Stock Ti frames are not painted, but bag rub will affect the surface finish. The lighter, brushed, finish can be refreshed using a fine abrasive pad, but the darker blasted finish can only be refinished by media blasting. To keep your Ti frame looking pristine, we recommend using protective film.

I want to get a custom frame bag made. Can you give me the frame dimensions? Of course! Have a look at our bagmaker page HERE where you can download full-scale PDFs showing the internal dimensions of all our frame models.
I want to use a rack. Is the frame compatible? Yes, with a Relaxle you can use a rack on most frames regardless of whether they have integrated rack mounts or not.
Some of our frames do not have upper attachment points on the seatstays (such as the Belgie range and AIR Kev for example), to get around this, you can use a seat clamp with built-in rack mounts.
How much weight can I carry on a rack? The maximum weight when using the seatstay/chainstay M5 mounts should not exceed 20kg. Check the tightness of the bolts regularly!

Note: This rating is for smooth roads & gravel. For anything rougher, the weight limit decreases. Use careful discretion when gauging how much weight to carry on rough gravel or off-road adventures.

My Belgie 3 - Rebuilt, Reborn!

About a month ago I had my Belgie 3 (3.5 years old) rebuilt. The mechanical group set was tired so I replaced it with the SRAM Force wireless AXS D2 you beaut group set. 46-33 and a 10-36 casssette. The wonderful team at Curve took careful time and a fair bit of patience to work with me on the outcome. Quite a few rides in its like having a new bike. Getting used to the gearing has been fun but it has made a serious difference to the riding I do (lots of hills). It’s also been a handy fillip for easier gravel routes. Big thanks to the Curve crew!

My Belgie is very Preciousss!

There is something that verges on the spiritual about riding a bike, and - if I can't ride for a day or two - its absence leaves me feeling grumpy and a little down in the dumps. My Belgie, Preciousss, and I have been riding together for over 5 years now and every ride is still an experience of the simple joy that is cycling. I still enjoy a quiet, smooth and confident ride that I felt first up, something that only a well designed and made bike is capable of delivering. Preciousss is a key part of of my wellness, and I reckon she'll continue to be for a long time!

AIRmazing

I was given the privilege of riding one of the very strictly limited Belgie AIR and what can I say. This bike simply does it all, at it's best. Whether it's in the flatlands, short and punchy climbs, long climbs up passes or twisty descents, the AIR goes through it all. Power and direction are transferred to the road very precisely, directly and without any losses. The quick and powerful response make any style of riding possible, if it's racing, training, exploring or some twisty local loops, you surely won't miss out on anything.
The bike consistently gives you the feeling of being fast, which turns out to not only being a feeling when you check your speed on the computer.
The ever shiny and exclusive design makes it an eye catcher, which shouldn't be parked in the garage, but be presented either out on the streets or in a good spot of your premises.

So I'm 18months into ownership of my Belgie v3, here in the UK, and what can I say.... its just an all round, awesome machine that can pretty much do anything you throw at it. I've covered 10,000miles already, through rain, snow, gales and scorching heat. brutal steep uk climbs, to most of the biggest Alpine ascents in France and Italy, and it ALWAYS feels so good, putting a massive grin on my face.... and above all these things, apart from still looking box-fresh, is the way in which it descends - truly phenomenal and quite literally the best bike I've owned in 30+ years of cycling... do yourself a favour and get one ordered, you'll never look back

Invest in happiness indeed!

I've had my Belgie V3 for nearly two months now. He's called Bertie ;)

Bertie is the most amazing bike I've ever ridden. I don't think I've ever been so comfortable on a bike. I have some old injuries and suffer from chronic pain so I'd accepted that riding up mountains or for long periods was going to cause me issues. I'd do whatever I could to mitigate it. I thought that was just the way it was going to be for me and I love cycling too much to stop.

At the end of November, I went to Bright and I rode up Mount Buffalo (7th time) and Mount Hotham (first time for me). Riding up mountains has always been hard for me because of an old back injury (prolapsed disc) but this time I managed to get up Mount Buffalo with no pain at all. Well, there was pain when some sweat laced with sunscreen got in my eye but that's not Bertie's fault. I even managed the 110km Hotham ride with just a few twinges.

What you've managed to achieve is nothing short of astonishing. I never thought I'd be able to ride without some degree of discomfort but now I know it really is possible. The bike fit I had done undoubtedly helped fit Bertie to me exactly but that was only possible because you've made such an amazing bike.

Thanks for giving me a machine for freedom and joy.
