The team had the pleasure of hanging out with David and his EYB crew last year on our European Groadshow, and since then it was only a matter of time before he built up a dream AIR Kev build! He’s left no stone unturned in speccing out this gravel race machine, read on to hear from David about his new bike!

"My name is David, and I work as a Bike Development Manager at Enjoyyourbike in Hannover, Germany. I’m responsible for our bike category, both offline and online, which gives me the incredible opportunity to constantly test new bikes and components. Evaluating whether a product fits into our portfolio is part of my everyday work—and honestly, it’s one of the best parts of the job.

Through this, I’ve been lucky enough to ride a wide range of bikes and parts over the years. But my connection to the Curve Kevin goes back much further. Around seven or eight years ago, I first saw a Kevin on The Radavist blog. I immediately thought: this is it. A titanium frame, big tires, and an overall aesthetic that just made perfect sense. It looked raw, functional, and incredibly cool. Unfortunately, I never had the chance to actually ride one back then.

That changed when I met Tom at the Bespoked show. We started talking, and eventually, we became a Curve dealer—honestly, a dream come true. But let’s fast forward a bit, because this is about the bike.

Over the years, I’ve ridden many bikes, but the GXR4, aka Kevin, has been the one I’ve had the most fun on. I’ve built countless bikes for customers and have seen just how versatile the GXR platform really is. Then, during the Groadshow, I had the chance to ride Rhino’s Air Kev. And wow—what a bike. I had never ridden anything like it. Later, I also tested Liege’s build, which was incredibly dialed and race-focused. That was the moment I knew: I had found my next dream bike.

Thanks to the legends at Curve, my Air Kev even came equipped with the Neoplug system, so I could go fully internal with the cable routing. The clean look suits the bike perfectly.

For the build, I went with a SRAM Force XPLR groupset, paired with a 46T chainring by Raketa. I also added a Ceramicspeed cage and bottom bracket—some proper Danish wizardry. On top of that, I’ve had the honor of testing the new ProtoG wheelset. It’s seriously impressive: well-designed, wide rims that feel fast and stable. Combined with Pirelli tires, the ride quality is just outstanding.

As for the finishing kit—being a bit of an ENVE fanboy—it had to be ENVE. I chose an SES Aero handlebar and an ENVE seatpost to complete the setup.

I absolutely love my Air Kev. For me, it’s the perfect bike. And from what I’ve experienced, every Curve owner feels the same way about their bike. Honestly, I can barely wait for the workday to end so I can get out and ride.

Big thanks to all the legends at Curve—even those I haven’t met yet. And of course, thanks to Tom, Jesse, Ryan, Gus, Liege, Jimmy and Taylor. Hope to see you all out on the trails.

Thank you for taking a look at my bike and reading through the description.

All the Love David

P.S. There’s a dream build video coming on the EYB YouTube showing how I assembled my bike—feel free to check it out if you’re interested."
