Bikepacking Companion
Our SEEK 480 fork, originally titled BP15, was built to complement the original GMX and our UpRock MTB. It has been tested heavily in bikepacking races, including Race to the Rock. The SEEK 480 is suitable for hardtail 29ers with a head tube that allows tapered steerer forks. Or any drop-bar all-terrain monster X bikes.
Ready For Adventure
Featuring 3 x 12 mm M5 mounting points on each blade, the SEEK 480 can accommodate anything from extra water bottles, our Rocket Pooches, or any other micro pannier or fork-specific bag. However, please keep in mind that it is designed to carry a max weight of 6 kg (3 kg/ blade). In addition, the SEEK 480 can accommodate a 29 x 2.0-2.4” tyre.
Fast, Light, and Easy
The SEEK 480 axle to crown measurement is suitable for replacing a 100 mm 29er suspension fork, saving you weight when the suspension isn’t required, and without compromising handling on rough terrain. The skewer comprises a simple and easy 15x100 mm bolt-up thru-axle design with a rotatable locking nut to ensure optimal clamping force.

FAQs
Will the Seek 480 fork work with my frame? | The fork has a tapered 1 1/8th"-1.5" (28.6-39mm) steerer with a 300 mm length. We use this steerer type on all of our forks and 44mm head tubes on all Curve frames. It may work with your frame, but you may have to change your headset or headset bearings to make it work. Please have a professional bicycle mechanic fit your 29er BP fork. |
What hubs can I use with this fork? | The Seek 480 fork is designed for 15 x 100 thru axle disc hubs. It also fits 12mm hubs with 21mm OD when used with a 12-15mm expander. |
Can I run a front rack? | Yes, but please have it installed by a professional bicycle mechanic and ensure some of the rack weight is taken by the handlebars. ie: a Wald basket mount. |
What is the maximum recommended spacer stack I can put under my stem? | We don't recommend any more than 40mm below your stem, and suggest putting a 3-5mm spacer above the stem to ensure precise compression and ample clearance of your stem cap. |
How much can I carry on the fork legs? | The M5 rivnuts can carry 3kg across all three mounts. Please use a mounting cage that utilises all three mounts. If attaching something to only two of the mounts, the weight limit is reduced to less than 1kg. We do not recommend attaching water bottles to the fork. |
What torque should I use for the leg mounts? |
Generally, you don't need to add a lot of torque to the M5 bolts to secure a mounting cage. The maximum recommended torque to attach a cage is 5Nm. DO NOT use locking washers, bolts with serrated heads or any kind of threadlocker (incl. bolts with threadlocker already applied). This can cause the rivnuts to come loose. NOTE: If you're just putting bolts in the mounts to plug the holes - DO NOT torque the bolts. Only do them up finger tight. |
