How do I clean a carbon rim?

Gentle soap-based and bicycle-specific cleaning products usually work well. Do not use harsh chemicals and caustic truck-wash products. Always rinse well with water and dry the wheel/bike after washing.
Even some bicycle-specific cleaners can cause damage to clear coats and paint if not rinsed off properly (we're looking at you, Muc-Off), so use these products with the appropriate care and caution.

I use a rear-mounted bike carrier - what do I have to think about?

Rear-mounted carriers are common and a very handy way to carry a bike on a car. However, care must be taken to ensure no parts of the bike, especially carbon fibre parts, are near the exhaust.
Exhaust fumes are hot enough to melt the resin in a carbon fibre product, even when the product is not directly in front of the exhaust. We do not warranty carbon fibre products that have been damaged by exposure to excessive heat.

My tubeless setup is losing pressure. What's up with that?

Tubeless setups are great and will save you from many flats thanks to the sealing properties of the latex-based sealant we use (Joe's Super Sealant). But they're not faultless. A new tubeless setup needs a bit of time so the sealant can do its thing - for best results, we recommend going out for a ride to let the sealant splash around inside the tyre.
If you don't ride the bike for a while, it's normal for the tyre to lose some pressure.
Check your tyre pressure before every ride!

FAQs

What Tyres Can I Run? So many choices! A 30mm internal rim typically works well within a range of tyres from 2.2" - 3.0" Some narrower tyres on wider rims will square off too much, and some wider tyres on narrower rims will fold and squirm due to lack of sidewall support. This is more common at the extremes and varies from tyre model to model.
Why only 28h? We believe 28H is ideal for most off-road applications, as we've seen from our real world testing from XC racing to off-road touring.
Can I Customise the Build? Definitely. Dirt Hoops Alloy are available as rim only. You can then configure your wheels any way you want, as long as your hubs of choice are 28h. Get in touch to discuss your options.
