Alexandra (Ali) Jones

Hey, I'm Ali Jones! It's now about six years since I ventured to Tasmania solo with panniers full of borrowed gear and Curve's original Grovel. I'd been a bike commuter forever, and loved solo backpacking - it was both terrifying and totally natural to marry the two.
I came home feeling strong, clear, and inspired - it was the start of an ongoing love of adventuring by bike. Since then, I've progressively upped my enjoyment of steeper, rockier trails and remote places. Bikepacking has become an essential reprieve from my work as a public health academic. I've also acquired a Kevin of Steel and accumulated some lighter gear and knobblier tyres along the way.
You can find words and images from my journeys on the Tassie Trail, the Vic Divide during bushfire season, and a recent spontaneous escape to South Australia online.

Beyond being a proud (and resilient) Sydney commuter and cycling advocate, I'm passionate about getting more womxn on bikes in nature. I'm part of the diverse Omafiets bike shop community - if you're in Sydney, come ride with us!
