The 3rd of May 2025 was not only Federal Election Day, it was also the roll out day for the FIRST EVER Curve x MAAP overnighter.

The brief for this event was to create an opportunity for people who may be new to Curve rides and to gravelling by bike, to have a go at carrying gear on their bike and ride from Melbourne into the countryside for an overnighter. Those up for the challenge simply needed to book their own accommodation and download the routes.

The town of Healesville in Victoria’s Yarra Valley seemed the perfect destination for such an excursion; a regional food and wine hub with accommodation options to suit all requirements. The 210km to be ridden over the two day adventure was carefully crafted by Curve’s Adventure Overlord Jesse Carlsson to serve up *just* the right amount of challenge - think punchy switch back gravel climbs, sweeping tarmac descents, a smattering of single track and other little challenges scattered throughout. The Curve crew offered the adventure and MAAP brought the party; it’s easy to see how this event was a big success.

Highlights included - old friends, new faces, all the laughs & the round of applause as the last wheels to arrive at the Healesville Hotel for a victory drink which was no doubt followed by a bit of a lie down.
