Tom, Gus and Rhino recently hosted a Transcontinental Training Camp at our freshly opened Malaga Adventure Dojo. Designed as a challenging weekend of riding in the Andalusian hills combined with informative evenings around the fire, this is the perfect prep for anyone taking on this prestigious ultra-endurance race this summer!

There’s something special about bringing a group of riders together on the edge of something big. Not just a ride or a weekend away, but a build of anticipation before an event like the Transcontinental. Legs ticking over, gear dialled, ideas forming. That’s exactly what unfolded at our first training camp at the Curve HQ in Málaga.

We mapped out a series of routes that stitched together quiet tarmac climbs with “parcours-inspired” gravel sectors through the hills. A small taste of the kind of terrain that everyone will face on the roughly 5,000km journey from Norway to Greece this upcoming summer. It wasn’t about speed, it was about learning how you ride when things aren’t straightforward, packing setups and how to manage yourself.

But as much as the riding matters, we want to help give riders the best possible preparation for this year's race. With heaps of ultra-endurance experience within our team, we spent the evenings sharing stories around the fire.

We gathered at HQ where our team and Curve ambassadors shared insights that you won’t find in a gear list or a GPX file. The kind of stuff you only learn by being out there on the road.

In true TCR fashion, comfort was optional.

Riders rolled out their sleep systems and camped indoors at the Adventure Dojo; mats, bivvies, whatever they’d be relying on out on the road. It’s one thing to carry your setup; it’s another to actually use it. Those small rehearsals matter. They build confidence. Or at the very least, they highlight what needs rethinking before race day.

Thank you to everyone that came along for our first Transcontinental Training Camp. It was a pleasure to ride with you, and to be part of your lead-in to this year’s race. We’ll be watching closely as it all unfolds!

If you’re Transcontinental-bound, or even just curious about stepping into that world, our Málaga HQ is open for business. Whether you’re out on a training ride, want to test ride a Curve, get your bike serviced or simply a few days riding some of the best road and gravel in Europe, we’ve built this space to support exactly that kind of journey.
