Project Winter Sun is a series of adventurous gravel weekends from Curve's European Malaga HQ. We've orchestrated the weekends to gradually build up in difficulty building towards a longer flashpacking adventure and finally the Gran Sendero De Malaga; a mystery route gravel mission designed to be possible in anywhere from 1 to 3 days, depending how much of a hellcat you are! The inaugural edition will commence on Easter weekend 2026.

This gravel cycling training camp is designed as a weekend adventure in the winter sun, with temperatures hovering around 20ºC in the day! That's a European luxury. The cycling will challenge those adventurous cyclists who wish to explore some excellent Andalusian gravel while getting in some serious exercise. Commencing and ending in the historical city of Malaga. The region is well known for it’s outstanding food, music, vibrant culture, and if you didn't know the cycling on offer is world class!

The trip will require guests to fly in and out of Malaga International Airport, unless arriving by car.

Further Information

Required Equipment

You will need a high volume gravel endurance bike for this weekend. Tubeless tyre setups are OBLIGATORY with a volume of at least 700 x 45mm/650b x 2” to smooth out your ride over the gravel roads of Andalusia.

Riders will be expected to be self supported during each day of riding, carrying everything they will need during the day. This includes ride snacks, water and riding clothes for all conditions.

Expedition guides are experienced cyclists and mechanics and will be able to help with any mechanical problems that may arise however you should be completely self-sufficient with spare tubes, puncture repair systems, tools etc to keep yourself rolling. Once leaving the city there are limited bike shops on route.

You will need to bring your own bike to ride on this expedition. You must start this expedition with your bike in good working order, with new or near new tyres and drivetrain in good working order. We recommend a thorough service by a professional mechanic before you arrive in Malaga.

If you'd like to demo a Curve gravel bike for this weekend please contact our team!
