GXR4 Ti FAQ

I want to run the biggest tyres possible. How big can I go?

We have designed version 4 of the GXR to work well with tyre sizes around 700c x 40mm or 27.5" x 2.1". In 700c mode you can go as wide as 50 mm tyres (or 2.0”). Note that you can go even wider on the front, with the Ride 415 VGM fork having clearance for up to 29 x 2.4” tyres for a super wild reverse-mullet set up!

We like to run Vittoria Mezcal in the 27.5" x 2.1" size. Anything larger than that may introduce poor chainstay clearance or even some rubbing. This is 100% normal when going to the largest tyre size that will physically fit in the frame.

Note also that there are other factors that affect the ultimate width of the tyre, such as internal rim width and tyre tread pattern. Do not just go by the tyre label.

Rider discretion is advised.

I want to attach bags. What will it do to the frame finish?

Curve's custom painted titanium frames are finished with high-quality and durable paint. Like all paint work, it will be adversely affected by rubbing from bike bags, rock strikes, chain slap, etc. If you want to keep your paint in the best possible condition, we recommend using a protective film, especially in the high-wear areas where bag straps are in direct contact with the frame.

Can I use a rack?

With a wide range of frame and fork-mounted rack systems on the market, and with more appearing every week, it is important to understand which rack systems are compatible with your Curve frame and fork, and how to mount them correctly in order to ensure safe riding, avoid damage and voiding your warranty.

Before mounting a rack, we strongly recommend you get in touch with us to confirm compatibility and the correct mounting procedure. This will minimise the risk of injury, product damage and voiding your warranty. Your local Curve dealer, or the team at Curve HQ, can also help you select a rack system and mount it to your bike for you.
