What is the Mongolia Expedition?
When Gus first rode through Mongolia in 2019, it planted a seed. We realised this special place would be the ultimate destination to bring people to share in the adventure. Riding in Mongolia is a unique experience and we have developed an amazing route that takes in the landscapes and culture of Mongolia in a genuine way.
The Expedition is supported by our local partner, Fairfield. They are an Australain business who is based in Tsetserleg and the best in Mongolia when it comes to facilitating travel and logistics in an environment that is challenging to say the least!
The Touring Nomads will have a follow vehicle carrying their personal items and luggage meaning they can ride with their essentials on the bike and make the most of each day on the Steppe!
Stories from the Recon
Tom and Gus are out on the Steppe doing the final recon before heading out with our Touring Nomads for an unforgettable Mongolian Expedition.
You can see from the photos below, this won't be an adventure that is forgotten quickly!

Here's what Tom had to say about his first experience of Mongolia:
"For a long time Mongolia has been on the very top of my adventure bucket list. The Touring Nomads Expedition turned out to be the dreamed opportunity to finally come riding these unique landscapes.
Starting the recon with Gus was very smooth as I could blindly trust him, knowing the amount of time he put in designing the route and everything around it as well as his experience riding here. Not even 10min after riding out of our base in Tsetserleg, we were in the middle of the steppes, its rolling (steep) hills covering the horizon, wild horses and yak grazing all around. This is what I came for !
Being the least densely populated country on the planet, Mongolia offers endless views with no other human traces than the two tracks we were riding on and a few gers in the distance. It's a unique feeling to be riding your bike in this wild and immense place. Day 5 surely is the Queen stage in my opinion, with some of the finest scenery on the route even if every day has its breathtaking moments. You'd have to come check it out for yourself!
One of my favourite parts of riding here is the camp spots we have every night on the steppes, usually close to a river, like the nomads who call this land home. The locals are very curious and hospitable, they always come say G'Day, a smile and a handshake despite the language barrier.Big Kev felt right at home here and I'm excited to do it all again, unloaded this time! What an incredible luxury to ride here fully supported.Recon is now completed and our route finally polished. I can't wait to take the Touring nomads out there for this once a lifetime journey."
