Hello, Friends of Curve Cycling! We are G!RO, your friendly neighbourhood Curve dealer based in the Surrey Hills, near London, UK. Here at G!RO, we love incredible coffee and riding our bikes (something we’re sure most of you reading can relate to), locally here in the Surrey Hills, UK, and globally with friends from the Curve community around the world!
The G!RO Story.
Established in 2013, G!RO was a place for riders to meet and enjoy good coffee with a like-minded, welcoming community. These founding values have continued to be the driving force behind our beloved cafe ever since. Jordan and the team work hard to highlight, champion, and celebrate the importance of these aspects daily. As we rapidly close in on our 8th Birthday, we feel excited and privileged to find ourselves where we are today.
With the all-important anytime brew stop being a big part of most people’s ride, it will be no surprise that we’re also all incredibly passionate riders too. We love all disciplines here at G!RO, and enjoy getting out on two-wheeled #RideWithMates adventures as much as possible, a true workplace benefit. An added privilege is the array of Curve bikes we get to take out on adventures with us. You’ll regularly find us shredding around the UK Belgie onboard a Kevin, see our race team ripping the local crits on their Belgie V3’s, or day-tripping on board an Ultra. You can follow our community through our website and social media accounts, keeping up with the adventures we enjoy, the routes we use, equipment of choice, and how to join us! We can also help with any fuel and recovery options for your riding and social needs.
Having Curve along as part of the journey is a seamless part of the story. Their adventurous heritage and passion for the cycling community align perfectly with our values. The day we were introduced to Curve remains a highlight for us here at G!RO! One summer's day six years ago was the start of a friendship and partnership that has continued to grow. We met Adam and Rhino through a mutual friend, welcoming them through our doors.
They were on a typically Curve style ULTRA adventure, riding from Loire Valley, France to nearby London. Ryan and Adam needed a tour guide for the Surrey Hills, so Jordan (Jonty) and Josh stepped up and gave them the tour of a lifetime. Known affectionately as the BEST RIDE to ever happen at G!RO; the day involved a glorious ride through the Surrey Hills in Summer, followed by a brew here at G!RO, and finished perfectly with more pints than can be remembered at our local, the Wheatsheaf. The conversation wasn’t about bikes, business, or sales. It was just four mates, out riding, having a great time - exactly what we’re about here at G!RO.
We loved hearing about the adventure they were on, their undeniable passion for bikes and riding (very far), and wanting to explore and soak up the Surrey Hills with us! We loved their ethos and outlook for Curve, and all of the resonance found on this day is why it remains a standout memory for us. We knew we wanted to work alongside Curve and have done ever since, proudly spreading the good word here in the UK.
So if you have a passion for bikes and adventure; love great coffee, we urge you to swing by and get involved with all things G!RO. As the world starts to open up, we are excited at the prospect of meeting more people like you from all over the world, so we can share the love of riding over a G!RO coffee and a ride on our Curve bikes.
We look forward to the day we can visit Curve crew in Melbourne too! In the meantime, we prescribe plenty of caffeine, beer, cake, and riding with mates to stay safe and well while we continue to negotiate these tricky times!
Meet the team at G!RO.
Danny Roberts-Clarke: “I joined the G!RO community after Jamie bribed me with a free coffee a couple of years ago, and it's been love ever since. Being part of such a great community and working as their mechanic on the best bikes in the business makes coming into work something that always puts a smile on my face. Looking forward to joining the Curve crew for a Melbourne Belgie once this whole lockdown thing blows over” alternative line… “Hey Ryan and Kate, hope you’re well; any update on our shipment?”
Jordan Addison: “Howzit okes, this is your captain Jonty speaking! The last six years working with Curve here at G!RO has been an amazing time. It’s taken us worldwide, and we have shared countless experiences with some wonderful people. That is why we love working with Curve and the machines they engineer. It’s not about the machines, but rather the places they take you and the people you meet along the way! I look forward to the next six years with Curve as a partner and the adventures to follow. Jonts x”
Jamie Olsson: “Jamie here! Jack of all trades here at G!RO - I can whip you up a mean flat white, give you a guided tour of the Surrey Hills, or have you riding your new dream bike plus everything in-between! It’s been a pleasure meeting and working with the Curve crew ever since I joined the G!RO team, sampling many of their great bikes along the way as the UK’s (self-assigned) chief test pilot. I look forward to one day joining the Curve crew at their HQ in Melbourne and enjoying more of what this wonderful community has to offer in a post-covid world! See you on the road! J”
